Ellah Allfrey, deputy editor of Granta magazine, in conversation with Billy Kahora, managing editor of Kwani?, writer, and formerly shortlisted for the Caine Prize.
Also present was Doreen Baingana, Ugandan author of Tropical Fish, which won the 2006 Commonwealth Writers’ Prize, best first book, Africa, and an AWP Short Fiction Award. With her is Prof. Timothy Wangusa, author of Salutations: Poems 1965-1975 (1977), Upon this mountain (1989), A Pattern of Dust: Selected Poems 1965-1990 (1994), Anthem for Africa (1995), and Africa’s New Brood (2006).
